	Federated Church is a uniquely combined congregation serving the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Church of Christ. Our church offers you an opportunity to meet and worship with your neighbors. Joining with us in religious services makes it easy to meet new friends, find new family activities, and build new relationships. Located in downtown Columbus, Nebraska, our centrally located church has become a community center for all people. A wide variety of events and activities take place at Federated Church. We have a variety of rooms available for meetings, gatherings, or other social activities.

The Federated Church is a group of Christians bonded together for the purpose of communicating with Christ, and with each other. Our objective is to learn about and to extend the teachings of Jesus Christ to our members and the community, through word and deed.

Our concern is for the welfare of humanity both spiritually and physically. We strive for a healthy relationship of people to God and people to people. We seek to respond to the Gospel and to the needs around us. With God's grace we can make an effort toward providing for the individual, church, and community needs, while continuing to support national and world missions.

Our Mission Work

A Brief History of Federated Church

On July 2, 1914, The Federated Church of Columbus was inaugurated at an evening meeting of two congregations coming together. The two congregations joined by Articles of Federation were the Congregational Church and the Presbyterian Church. Both had active memberships formed in the last half of the 1800s and both continued to prosper at the time of the federation. Successfully merging the cooperative spirit that the two churches had established in the preceding years, they joined in a united effort to serve as one congregation while still maintaining the identity with their state and national denomination affiliations.

The Federated Church continues its relationship with the two denominations, now Presbyterian Church (USA) and United Church of Christ. With the completion in 2001 of a newly constructed sanctuary and extensive renovation of existing facilities, The Federated Church of Columbus continues into the new century in the Spirit of Christ, proclaiming God’s grace in word and deed.
